Tito Puente – On the Street where You Live – Beats & Pieces Vol.:2 – BBe Records – The Undisputed Latin big Band Leader, Tito’s rendition is full of Joy, A real rouser, especially when it’s raining outside, Full on horn section compliment Tito’s Percussion perfectly, Then the wind and second percussion Kick in. If you dont like Latin music , you’ll certainly appreciate Tito’s Solo,

3. Elements of Life Feat Lisa Fischer & Cindy Mazelle – Into my Life (You Brought the Sunshine) – Vega records – Personally one of the best Dance Song’s ever written, let alone Mr Vega’s powerful production. This song never leaves my Player/playlist, I’ve played it since it came out, I’m a sucker for a great song. Also available on the 10 years of Soul Heaven Compiled by the man himself. Huge Soul Heaven Song.

4. W’beeza Feat Tina Penni Anne – Third Ear Recordings – If there was such a thing as deeptechtrojacking House , LMAO, this is it. From the First time I heard it at Soulmates @ Plastic People, I thought “what a refreshing anecdote to today’s tried n tested four to the floor Formula House. No brain surgery qualifications needed in the production dept. Just a solid beat, deep pulsing Bass and a cheeky Vocal cameo from Ms Anne. Which is  a gift in itself to create, Yes Mr Beeza, You’ll have me Jacking Down Portobello Rd for many Moon’s with this one.

5. Cameo – Cameosis – Casablanca records – I saw Cameo perform this song at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1985, and I love it’s firing P-funk Horns, Fender Jazz rolling Bass, & Straight up in your Face Vocal’s, Larry Blackmon certainly carries a note on this song. It’s all about Nostalgia with this one, I first heard it Via Norman Jay Mbe @ one of His Family Funktion’s and I was hooked.
Big Tune.

6. Bopstar feat Baby Soul – Material Thing – Patterns – Great Debut for Bopstar’s label, the undeniable vocal’s of Baby Soul & the uncompromising Production Talent of Bopstar. Deep, Deep, Deep. This should get dance floors going from London to New York, Japan to Australia. This man’s production & Game has been on the rise since his first release on restless soul. and i like listening to his music to Boot.

7. Tony Allen – Ijo –  restless soul remix – World Circuit Records – Not released as yet, but Tony Allen is a Drum God, Fela Kuti said without him there would not be an Afrobeat sound as we know it. If it’s Not Toni Allen on my Player its Fela Kuti, Tony being Fela’s Drummer in his Prolific 70′s releases, which have enthralled the world with his Unique Afrobeat style since then. I once had the pleasure to be on stage with Tony @ the Jazz Cafe and it is a moment i will always treasure.

8. Pevenn Everett – V4 – Produced by Dean Zepherin – Tribe records Prerelease – Pevenn Everett to me is one of the most underrated Singer/Songwriters on the Planet, His diversity in rhythm and melody alone are second to none, His adoration by soul fans & house-heads alike is no accident. His grooves are crafted around the song and vice versa, therefore giving the listener his full experience. This song i believe is coming out on a forthcoming Lp on Tribe Records. This title Produced by Dean Zepherin one of London’s Shining Producers. The Tribe vibe is alive in this one. I Love P. E.

9. Stephanie Cooke – Our Love – Soul Renegades mix – Soulful Beats records – Stephanie Cooke certainly is a busy Girl at the moment, but here With the Help of the awesome “Soul Renegades” She sounds amazing. The Song itself is a Gem, and Kudos to the Soulful Beats collective for this particular release. The Crew who hail from Edinburgh have a lot to answer for, :) , and from the sounds of it that’s what they’re doing, We where chuffed when they offered their first release as “Soul Renegades” to restless soul, And cant wait to hear their New S**t.

10.  Gil Scott Heron – I’m New Here – XL Recordings – A Welcome return to the Seasonally changing Word-smithery and TRUTH that Mr Heron is Renowned for, been a big Fan for years. I remember scouring record fairs and second hand shops in the Mid to late 80′s. Now I can simply go online and lift it of my doormat when it arrives, how things change, Great isn’t it. One thing that has never Changed is Gil Scott Heron’s Text, Delivery or Astoundingly Deep Tones. Listen to this man’s story in “I’m New Here,” Then go out or go online and buy all his back catalogue, You wont regret it.
